Who handles your data

The data controller is ItaliansCodeItBetter S.R.L., registered office at Via Giuseppe Frua 22, 20146 Milan, Italy, VAT no. IT14266910968. For any request: vittorio@icib.dev.

What we collect

• What you type in the "What does your company do?" field, and the AI's answer (what it understood and which demos it suggested).
• How you use the demos: sector, sample document chosen, whether you uploaded your own PDF, whether the reading worked, how long it took, the page language, whether you're on a phone or a computer, and the country you connect from.
• A pseudonymous identifier: a fingerprint (hash) of your IP address computed with a secret key. The IP address itself is not stored. It is used to count tries per day and to tell which actions come from the same visitor.
• PDFs you upload: they are sent to the AI service only to be read at that moment. We don't store them, and we keep nothing of the result of your own PDF, only the fact that a reading happened.
• Your email address, which we ask for to show you the result of a reading, together with the sector and document you were trying.
• The hosting provider's technical logs, which like any server record IP addresses and requests for security, for the period set by the provider.

Why, and on what legal basis

• To run the demo you asked to try: reading the document and suggesting the right demos (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual steps at your request).
• To cap tries per day and protect the service from abuse (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest in security).
• To understand how the demo is used, which sectors are of interest and what visitors look for, so we can improve it and know which software to offer (Art. 6(1)(f), legitimate interest). For this we only use the pseudonymous identifier, never the IP address.
• To show you the result of the reading and get back to you about this demo, which is what you ask for by leaving your email (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, pre-contractual steps at your request). Without an email you can still view the sample documents, but not the result. We don't use it for newsletters or other promotional messages and never pass it on. You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you.

How long we keep it

• Demo usage log and text typed in the field: 12 months, then deleted automatically.
• Daily try counters: 30 days.
• Email: 24 months, or until you ask us to delete it, if sooner.

Who sees it and where it is stored

• Authorised ICIB staff, through a password-protected private area.
• The providers we need to run the demo, appointed as data processors: Vercel Inc. (hosting, with functions in Frankfurt), Supabase Inc. (database, in Frankfurt), Anthropic PBC (the AI service that reads texts and documents). Under Anthropic's commercial terms, content sent through the API is not used to train its models.
• Vercel, Supabase and Anthropic are US companies: data may be transferred outside the European Union, on the basis of the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses.

Your rights

• You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, restrict its processing, receive it in a readable format, and object to processing based on legitimate interest (Arts. 15-22 GDPR). You can ask us at any time to stop contacting you. Just write to vittorio@icib.dev.
• For data linked only to the pseudonymous identifier we may not be able to recognise you (Art. 11 GDPR): if so, tell us and we'll explain what we can do.
• If you believe the processing breaches the GDPR you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali (garanteprivacy.it).

Automated decisions

The AI suggests which demos to show you and reads the sample documents. It makes no decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on you.
